Welcome to my site! My name is Nathen Watters and I do Web & Mobile Development.

For the past two years I have been involved in QA and Test Automation specifically testing for web UI/UX and web services. I now do web and mobile development bringing in the mindset of a Test Automation developer, and thus practice Test-Driven Development at every turn.

My current pleasures involve both front-end (mobile-first) web development, and back-end web development with Python/Django as well as Node.js/Express.js. You can also find me doing Android application development.

Flappy Bird Clone

Tap your way through this alternative version of Flappy Bird in space! Watch out for the shuttles, they are not there to pick you up.

This project was built using JavaScript and the Canvas API, and was a means of learning the Entity-Component-System (ECS) architectural pattern that is commonly used in game development.

Find Meetups that are upcoming in your area with this simple little web app. Looking for a different location? Just type in your new location in the search box, and watch the Meetups show up on the map for the new area.

Using Knockout.js, jQuery.js, Google Maps API, and Meetups API find Meetups that are happening soon in your chosen area.

Want a simpler way to search for videos on YouTube? Just type what you're looking for, and get your results and nothing but your results.

This project was built using jQuery and YouTube's V3 API to search for embeddable videos.

Search Instagram for the top 20 images related to your search.

This project was built using the Angular.js MV* front-end framework, and the angular-animate module for animating the images as they load on screen.

Blackjack

Play the computer in a classic game of Blackjack, otherwise known as "21".

jQuery.js and Object-Oriented JavaScript was used to build this app. The playing cards can be found here.

Shopping List

Keep track of your shopping using this list. You can add, remove, or move items between the items and purchased lists.

This app was built with jQuery.js and the jQuery-UI plugin as well as the localStorage API for saving the list to the client's machine.
